In a time when people are seriously evaluating their personal investments, we often overlook how we are invested in the work that God is doing in the world. Investing means to involve or engage in order to earn a return. This three-week series will focus on how you can invest in God’s work and engage in something valuable, worthwhile and eternal.

“Obsessed is to have the mind excessively preoccupied with a single emotion or topic.” Could you imagine what it would be like if we were all obsessed with following Christ? Is this something we reserve for a special group of people or is this something that Christ expects of us? The apostle Paul teaches us what it means to be “obsessed” in Philippians 3:1-10. Have you ever taken a drink of “lukewarm” coffee, thinking it was on the one hand hot or on the other hand cold? The initial reaction for most is to spit out the coffee and get a fresh cup. In Revelation 3: 15-16 Jesus says, “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” This Sunday we continue in the series Crazy Love as we discuss the dangers and the antidote for being lukewarm in our response to the love of God.

This Sunday Strider Stokes taught from Luke 15 where the gospel writer records three spiritualstories (parables) that Jesus taught…the story of the lost sheep, the story of the lost coin and the story of the lost son. These stories teach us some powerful lessons about the way the Father reacts to our sinfulness.

Strider is the Young Life area director for North Saint Johns County.  He currently oversees the work at Ponte Vedra High School, Nease High School and Pacetti Bay Middle School.  We are blessed to have Strider Shannon and Asher as a part of the MissionWay family.

Matthew writes this in his gospel, As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” (Matthew 24:23) Discover how Jesus answered their question–and ours–about how it all ends.

A New Life

As Christians, we are new creations in Christ. We have a new life and new way of looking at the world. We have experienced a change within us, and people around us should be able to recognize that there is something different, something intriguing about us. It is hopefully something they desire to explore. From God’s Word we can learn how to live out each day as a reflection of our newness in Christ, drawing others in to His love. Join us Sunday as we study 2 Corinthians 5:17 and learn what it means to be “new.” Tye Welsh will be our speaker.

When faced with a major decision, most of us experience a heightened interest in discovering God’s will. We look for signs, divine coincidences, open doors, supernatural insight, or inner peace. We seek wise counsel, search out every fact, or in desperation even resort to playing Bible roulette, all the while praying, “Lord show me your will-PLEASE!” Many of us ask the question, “If God’s will is so important, why does it seem so hard to find?” Join us Sunday as we wrap up this series and unravel the spiritual myth that God has a blueprint for my life.
